There was a death today
A small thing in life's scheme
A light went out of eyes today
Only those who cared noticed
A small dog died today
A man wept
A little dog died today
Very old -- deaf, blind, barely walking -- an expected death
Yet master grieves
For devoted friend, loyal companion
Death comes to all eventually
Part of life, yet not accepted
Those gone mourned by those left behind
Funerals, wakes for the living, not dead
A little dog died today
Buried beneath bedroom window, may the spirit visit
Death completes life cycle
Mourning loss as spirit flies
All dogs go to heaven
Mourn not death; Celebrate life
